The Physical Development
The Park will be located at the property called Vintergatan 19 which is currently owned by ASSA ABLOY. The property, located on Eskilstunas main thoroughfare Kungsgatan, is some 10 minutes from the City Centre. The site comprises a land area of some 70.000 m2 supporting both existing buildings and developable land.
Quantum Innovation Park will comprise offices, laboratories, workshops, testing facilities, shops and housing and exhibit such features as an attractive andhighly sustainable design, a secure environment anda wide range of intelligent features. The Park buildings will be characterised by a light, airy, environment. The central Quantum Square will provide a natural and welcoming meeting place for many of the Park activities with stimulating natural light, areas of bright greenery with trees and bushes, a reception area, restaurant, café, access to an array of meeting and conference rooms, shopping facilities and a gymnasium and Health Centre. The roof area above Quantum Square will be accessible for all with a grassed park miljeu for recreation, social meetings and relaxation. This roof park will also provide a stimulating and uniting spectacle for those working in the surrounding buildings.
Eskilstuna: A Strategic Location for the Future
Eskilstuna has a highly strategic location within the Malardalen Region of Sweden.
It lies within 50 minutes travelling distance from the Capital City of Stockholm and the ancient and eminent University town of Uppsala. Eskilstuna is within 30 minutes travelling time from many neighbouring towns such as Västerås, Örebro, Enköping and Södertälje, the home of the Scania concern and Astra Zeneca.
Eskilstuna is on the nationwide motorway network and main rail lines connect it directly with Gothenberg, Malmö, Helsingborg in the southwest, Stockholm in the east, Oslo in the west and Uppsala, Sundsvall and other centres to the north. Eskilstuna is located some 40 minutes from the airport in Västerås and some 50 minutes from the airports in Nyköping and Stockholm Arlanda.
